Red Door Consulting was created via a management buy-out of the German operations of Spectrum Strategy Consultants, a world leader in developing strategy for the digital industries. In 2002, former Spectrum director Cathy Dobson launched Red Door as a consultancy firm with specialist expertise in telecoms, broadband, new media, content and the internet.

Fast-forward to today, where Red Door has built an exceptional professional reputation and a proven track record with many blue-chip clients.  It also enjoys a highly successful relationship with its sister company, City Media GmbH, a translation and localisation agency for a wide range of sports and corporate clients. Most recently, Red Door has been joined by Dr. Madeleine Hamley as a full-time member of staff. Combining 15 years of freelance work as a translator, proofreader and editor with a passion for science – culminating in a PhD degree in Biology as of 2021 – Maddy is Red Door’s go-to expert for scientific, medical and other academic proofreading and translation services as well as day-to-day management of the company.
